With Google at AISD

I have been an Educational Technology Specialist at the American International School of Dhaka since 1997.

A firm believer in the concept of life long learner, my philosophy of education is to learn to contribute and that knowledge is best gained when it is collaborative.

With an institutional vision agreed by all stake-holders in 2012 to build a student-centric learning environment, our first goal was to establish a mode of instruction that would not be dependent upon printed textbooks or limited to physical classrooms.

As the Director of Technology it thus became my fundamental responsibility to lead the implementation of Google Apps for Education and bring a cultural shift in the way learning was to be achieved.

The change-management process of this transition involved facilitation and supervision of teacher-led workshops that we called T3 sessionsTeacher Training Teachers. Exploring and subscribing to Professional Development sessions conducted by Trainers around the world - online and on site, Tuesday Tech Tips for faculty and staff members are key methods adopted to impart knowledge based resources.

Currently over 90% of our faculty members from ES, MS and HS are using Google Drives, Google Sites, Google Classroom, and Blogger for their classes and the number keeps increasing each year.
